Openings at Door Pharmaceuticals
Our work builds on the biophysics of viruses. We pursue an understanding of how we disrupt virus biophysics. However, our small molecules must also be evaluated in biological systems to quantify potency and pharmacology. Door biologists work on the cell biology of infectious disease, evaluating new small molecules, and investigating mechanism in a biological milieu.
Biochemist/Biophysicist, PhD
PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field. Five or more years of post-doctoral experience is required. Industrial experience is a big plus. The successful candidate will be experienced with protein purification and manipulation. Experience developing functional assays for protein assembly and interaction with ligands is necessary. A strong grasp of structural biology and small molecule behavior is very desirable. Because we are a small company, multi-tasking is a must. There will be opportunities for growth, publication, and presentation as projects mature.
Cell Biologist, PhD
PhD in Virology, Biology or a related discipline. Three or more years of post-doctoral experience in cell biology is required. Experience with Hepatitis B Virus and industrial experience are major plusses. The successful candidate will be prepared to perform and help direct (i) routine tissue culture for evaluating small molecules and (ii) mechanistic studies that require an in-depth understanding of infection and a cell’s response to it. The candidate must be experienced with a broad array of tissue culture techniques, molecular biology, and approaches for evaluating viral replication. Knowledge of statistical software for data analysis is strongly desired. Because we are a small company, multi-tasking is a must. There will be opportunities for growth, publication, and presentation as projects mature.
Cell Biologist, BS/MS
BS or MS degree in Biology or a related discipline. Industrial experience with 5 years or more experience in cell culture is preferred. The candidate should have experience with stable and transiently transfected cell lines, RT-PCR, and standard techniques of molecular biology. Knowledge of statistical software for data analysis is strongly desired. There will be opportunities for growth, publication, and presentation as projects mature.
